Unravel Opus DNA. Dreamers crossed with technocrats crossed with serious-minded pragmatists. Intellect and heart spilling forth mindful, effective ideas set upon beautiful platforms, connecting with people and industry, solving business problems.
Here, brand promise becomes shared experience. Be it interactive, video, print, conversational, whatever. Need drives choice. Cool stuff is invented. Provoking thought. Revealing the great idea.
WE LOVE THE MESSY BITS. As much as we crave the order. Remember what your mom said, "Creativity ain't pretty... And stop painting your brother when he's asleep."
What's the criteria?
Hard work: yes.
Debate: welcomed.
Getting it: essential.
Team player: what else?
Passion: scalable, but we gotta feel it.
And we feel it daily.
The need to follow an independent and entrepreneurial path led Jim Fletcher and Nick Olson, just out of college, into this business. After a stint designing and carving granite headstones, they turned to peddling sign-making door-to-door. Hard work and keen design landed them a handful of clients including Hollywood Video. Eventually, to better fulfill their client's design needs, they sprung out Opus Creative in 1994.
At the heart of Opus' success today is a talented team of designers, creators, programmers, writers, directors, producers, strategists and account experts who know (and love) brand, design and social communications—online, offline, and marketing strategy. Providing companies with soulful and strategic technical solutions. And headstones upon request.
WHAT DO YOU NEED? Besides everything. Strategy? Wild ideas? Not-wild ideas? Beautiful interactive experiences? Design? Technology support? Tools…print production…a big-ass YouTube video? A live stage play? Our passion spills forth creative thinking, digital strategy, crystalline design, social sensibilities, technical expertise and promotional insight. Not everything, but everything well done. Hallelujah.
This is Opus Creative and this is what we do. It starts and ends with you. And your essence. We seek to uncover the thing beyond the thing. The thing that is past the point of obvious. The thing at the center of it all.
This journey we willingly take. To explore. Expose. Poke. Prod. Instigate… Then define. Solve. Craft and create. To unearth the idea. Nurture it. School it. Challenge it. Give it a haircut and kick it out of the house. Then start all over again.

…THAT'S THE BEAUTIFUL PART. A slightly off-kilter environment is essential to see things from new perspectives. To crave smart, impactful experiences over all else. And to push-push-push yourself. Sound fun? We think so.
We work in a world where 1 + 1 can equal 11. Sometimes you need a little TLC. And Opus does that. Competitive benefit packages, open atmosphere, dog-friendly (sorry cat-people!) and hugs from Todd when everything gets a bit too much.

Opus Creative Launches Two New Websites
Opus Creative designs Hush Puppies and Embassy Suites sites to fit changing needs
PORTLAND, OR – February 2010 – Opus Creative recently launched websites for two of the biggest brands in the footwear and travel industries. Hush Puppies and Embassy Suites both have sleek new sites that enhance user experience.
The Hush Puppies site launched in late September and gives the American shoemaker a website that represents its brand.
"The new site really fits the brand image and Hush Puppies needs," says Project Manager, Todd McIlhenny. "We wanted to revitalize their online presence while maintaining their connection to the traditional Hush Puppies followers."
The streamlined look includes men's, women's, kid's and new arrival sections. It also features the results of a global art contest to reinterpret the Hush Puppies trademark Basset Hound.
Embassy Suites' Waikiki website launched in November with new video, original music and an elegant graphic treatment. Opus blended the new elements with existing content to transform the website. "We organized the site better," says Art Director, Josette Schuur. "We wanted to make it easier to find and digest content and we wanted users to be able to visually understand what the hotel offers."
The retooling of the site was to create an emphasis on the suite hotel experience. "The website needed to reflect the unique feel and experience the hotel offers," says Project Manager, Viktoria Jacyno. "Their strength is the boutique atmosphere which exudes warmth and sophistication."
